Looking for a unique and creative experience in Porto? Step into the world of traditional Portuguese tile painting and bring home a handcrafted souvenir made by you! This private, hands-on workshop invites you to discover the history and craftsmanship of azulejos, the iconic hand-painted tiles that define Portugal’s artistic heritage. Under the guidance of a local ceramist, you’ll paint your own azulejo, choosing from classic patterns or expressing your own creativity. The tiles will then be fired in a high-temperature kiln and can be picked up 1 day later.

The Travellig Tile Project

In partnership with BOA – Bombarda Oficina de Artes, we invite the participants to explore the beauty of Portuguese tile painting while encouraging creative connections across the globe.
Each participant paints their own traditional azulejo, and for those who wish to take part in a special exchange, there’s the option to paint an extra tile for the next participant. In return, they receive a tile painted by someone before them—creating an artistic chain that links people through art.
On the back of the tile, participants can choose to leave their contact information or a message, allowing them to connect and discover where their tile has traveled. This simple yet meaningful exchange turns art into a bridge between cultures, carrying the essence of Portuguese heritage to new places.
